Paper Moon
A poetic journey to the stars
Robert Nippoldt and the Urknall Orchester are currently developing their new space show Paper Moon. In the middle of the development process, they want to get out on stage to test the first numbers on the audience.
Paper Moon takes the audience into a world in which art and science merge in a poetic way. In a combination of live drawings, music and drama, the four artists take the audience on an extraordinary journey into space.
Robert Nippoldt sits at a table, a kind of creative console, whose work surface is projected live by a camera onto a large screen in the background. Using various drawing techniques, materials, paper elements, hand puppets and text panels, he creates scenarios, live animations and image journeys. Thanks to large-scale projection, the audience experiences every finely executed movement and every stroke up close.
All of this is enlivened, commented on and inspired by the three fabulous musicians of the Urknall Orchestra, who bring well-known space melodies to life in new arrangements with verve and humor.
An entertaining evening that celebrates the historical milestones of space travel, pays homage to artistic cosmic visions and, above all, revives the longing for the stars.
A retro-futuristic astro-pleasure not only for space fans!
