Daniel Kothenschulte, born in 1967, studied art history, theater, film and television studies, as well as German studies, and has been head of the film department of the Frankfurter Rundschau since 2001. He owns Germany's most important collection of classic Hollywood glamour photographs and is also active as a silent film pianist.

Hans-Jürgen Schaal, born 1958, works as a freelance music journalist and book author, edits Germany's leading jazz magazine Jazzthing and curates a concert series in southern Germany.
